About the Role
We are seeking energetic and outgoing individuals to become part of our WALKR Street Team, representing TxDOT’s statewide Pedestrian Safety initiative. This initiative kicks off National Pedestrian Safety Month and aims to remind both drivers and pedestrians to remain vigilant and watch out for one another.
As a Street Team Member, your primary responsibility is to create a visual and interactive experience for both drivers and pedestrians. You will represent the TxDOT initiative by wearing backpack billboards while walking pre-determined routes in cities with a high rate of pedestrian-related traffic crashes.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage actively with drivers and pedestrians during your shifts.
- Distribute branded slap band giveaways to promote safety awareness.
- Activate campaign messages when cars are stopped at intersections.
- Ensure adherence to the provided walking paths and safety protocols.
- Collaborate closely with your team to support the Team Lead with on-site needs.
You will spend most of your shift outdoors, on your feet, while maintaining a positive, approachable, and energetic demeanor to maximize community impact and campaign visibility.
