About This Role
Indie-Life Events, in collaboration with United Way of Philadelphia & Southern New Jersey, is spearheading an initiative to combat poverty and expand opportunities within our communities. This effort focuses on promoting vital resources and information, ensuring all residents are aware of the support available through United Way 211.
Team Leads will play a crucial role in enhancing community access to the free and essential services offered by PA211. This helpline connects individuals and families with over 10,000 local health and human services, available 24/7 in over 150 languages. Services range from everyday needs to educational opportunities and crisis support in the Philadelphia area.
THE ACTIVATION
- Attend United Way community tabling events (e.g., street festivals, block parties, info/job fairs).
- Distribute promotional items and handouts provided by United Way.
- Inform event guests about the free 211 service.
- Encourage registration for text alerts and download of the PA211 app (Android/iOS).
EVENT STAFF DUTIES
BRAND AMBASSADORS (BA) - $20/hr
- Hand out promotional materials/pamphlets.
- Take 5-10 event photos and upload after the event.
- Inform passers-by about the hotline's accessibility and benefits.
- Share information about various resources/programs provided by United Way.
- Assist and encourage individuals to register and access services on their phones.
TEAM LEAD (TL) - $25/hr
- Must have own transportation.
- Perform all Brand Ambassador duties.
- Track event materials.
- Complete event recaps.
- Transport event set-up (4-6ft. folding table, 1-2 folding chairs, bags/boxes of swag + fliers) to and from events.
LOCATION & SCHEDULE
The campaign will operate in various locations throughout Philadelphia from July—November 2025. Dates and times will vary, with approximately 10-15 events per month.
