GTE Agency is actively seeking a highly enthusiastic Mascot and Handler duo to embody an iconic character for a high-profile brand. We welcome applications from individuals or established teams. While experience is preferred, it is not a prerequisite.
Team members will collaborate directly with on-site staff to facilitate engaging meet-and-greets with event attendees, potentially participating in special activities, award ceremonies, or presentations while distributing promotional items such as stickers and coupons. The team must efficiently adhere to provided guidelines within a dynamic, fast-paced environment. An outgoing and positive demeanor is crucial, as these characters invariably attract significant attention and admiration.

Walmart, 1375 N DAVIS RD, Salinas, CA 93907
$15 travel reimbursement per person
ROLES:
- MASCOT - $30/hour
The Mascot will fully embody the iconic character. Key requirements include:- MUST be 5'7" - 6'0" to properly fit the costume.
- Ability to wear the full costume for the entire shift, with scheduled breaks.
- Possession of an outgoing personality, with the capacity for expressive non-verbal performance and gestures.
- Availability to pose for photos with event attendees upon request.
- Strict adherence to all provided rules and guidelines for performing as a well-known character, including no speaking, constant full costume wear (never to be seen without it), and utilization of only approved poses and hand gestures.
- Maintaining consistent communication with your Account Executive before and after the event.
- HANDLER - $23/hour
The Handler serves as the Mascot's essential support, acting as their "eyes and ears." Key requirements include:- Possession of an outgoing personality, demonstrating excellent verbal and interpersonal skills, along with assertiveness and engaging communication.
- Ability to interact positively with event attendees, generating excitement for the character and brand.
- Ownership of a smartphone with reliable internet access/service, sufficient data storage, and screenshot and GPS capabilities.
- Capability to capture a minimum of 20 event photos and store them on your device for 10 days.
Requirements
- • Mascot must be 5’7”- 6’0” to fit into costume.
- • Mascot must be able to wear the full costume for the entire shift (with ample breaks).
- • Mascot must have an outgoing personality, with ability to be expressive in non-verbal performance/gestures.
- • Handler must have an outgoing personality—excellent verbal and people skills, with the ability to be assertive and engaging.
- • Handler must own a smart phone with reliable internet access/service and data storage, screenshot and GPS capability.
Responsibilities
- • Team members will work directly with location staff to do meet & greets with event attendees.
