As part of TxDOT’s Pedestrian Safety initiative, we are looking for enthusiastic and outgoing individuals to join our WALKR Street Team. This initiative aims to raise awareness about pedestrian safety, especially in areas with high rates of pedestrian-related traffic crashes.
You will be representing TxDOT’s campaign by wearing backpack billboards and walking designated routes at busy intersections, ensuring a strong visual presence throughout the community. Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Engaging with both drivers and pedestrians to promote safety awareness.
- Distributing branded slap band giveaways to make a memorable connection with the community.
- Activating campaign safety messages at intersections when cars are stopped, ensuring that both drivers and pedestrians stay alert.
- Following the established walking paths and safety protocols during your shifts.
- Collaborating with your team and supporting the Team Lead with any on-site needs as required.
Expect to spend most of your shift outdoors, remaining active, engaging, and approachable to maximize your impact and the visibility of our campaign.
