WALKR Pedestrian Safety Awareness

We are seeking energetic and outgoing individuals to join our WALKR Street Team as Brand Ambassadors for TxDOT’s statewide Pedestrian Safety initiative. This campaign aims to enhance pedestrian safety across all 25 TxDOT districts, focusing on cities with high rates of pedestrian-related traffic crashes. Kicking off during National Pedestrian Safety Month, this initiative reminds both drivers and pedestrians to stay alert and watch out for each other.

As a Brand Ambassador, you will represent TxDOT's Pedestrian Safety initiative by wearing backpack billboards and walking pre-determined routes at busy intersections to create a strong visual presence. Your role is vital in bringing this campaign to life and creating a memorable experience for drivers and pedestrians.

• Engage with drivers and pedestrians.
• Distribute branded slap band giveaways.
• Activate campaign safety messages when cars are stopped.
• Ensure all routes and safety protocols are followed.
• Work collaboratively with your team and support the Team Lead with on-site needs.

Staff will spend most of the shift outdoors, walking and standing, while maintaining a positive, approachable, and energetic attitude to maximize community impact and campaign visibility.
