TXDOT Pedestrian Safety Initiative

We are seeking an experienced, bilingual (English/Spanish) Team Lead to oversee the WALKR Street Team as part of TxDOT’s statewide Pedestrian Safety initiative. This high-visibility campaign kicks off National Pedestrian Safety Month and takes place across Texas’ busiest intersections, reminding both drivers and pedestrians to stay alert and watch out for each other. The Team Lead will oversee the WALKR Street Team during each activation, serving as the main point of contact with the client and ensuring the program runs smoothly from start to finish. You will be responsible for walking with the team along designated routes, keeping staff on task, tracking impressions, and collecting surveys on an iPad in both English and Spanish. The Team Lead will troubleshoot issues as they arise, maintain safety and organization, motivate the team, and support in distributing giveaways and engaging with drivers and pedestrians to deliver the campaign’s safety messages. We are looking for a motivated individual to ensure the success of this important pedestrian safety campaign. Our ideal candidate is a natural leader with excellent communication skills and a commitment to safety. You will be comfortable working outdoors for extended periods and have a knack for problem-solving in a fast-paced environment. Pay: $30.00/hr What You'll Do: As the Team Lead, you'll be the on-site point of contact between our client and the street team. You'll work alongside the team while ensuring everything runs smoothly:

• Supervise and motivate a group of Street Team Members during each activation.
• Walk the designated routes with the team, ensuring all protocols and safety guidelines are followed.
• Track and report impressions (using provided protocol documents).
• Collect surveys on an iPad (with English/Spanish toggle provided).
• Troubleshoot any on-site issues, keep staff on task, and ensure the activation remains organized and professional.
• Act as the liaison with the client, providing updates and handling any immediate needs.
• Support staff in distributing giveaways, engaging with drivers and pedestrians, and delivering campaign safety messages.

• Physical Requirements: Expect to be walking and on your feet for the entire shift.
