TxDOT Pedestrian Safety Street Team

We are seeking energetic and outgoing individuals to join our WALKR Street Team, an integral part of TxDOT’s statewide Pedestrian Safety initiative. This campaign aims to enhance pedestrian safety across all 25 TxDOT districts, focusing on cities with high rates of pedestrian-related traffic crashes. The initiative launches during National Pedestrian Safety Month, reminding both drivers and pedestrians to stay alert and look out for each other.

As a Brand Ambassador on the WALKR Street Team, you will represent TxDOT’s Pedestrian Safety initiative. You will wear backpack billboards and walk predetermined routes at busy intersections, creating a strong visual presence to maximize community impact and campaign visibility.

What You'll Do:

• Wear a backpack billboard while walking pre-determined routes at busy intersections.
• Be active, visible, and engaging throughout your shift, primarily spent walking outdoors.
• Distribute branded slap band giveaways to drivers and pedestrians.
• Activate the campaign’s safety messages when cars are stopped at intersections.
• Follow all provided walking paths and safety protocols for each activation.
• Work collaboratively with your team and support the Team Lead with on-site needs.

Responsibilities include:

• Engaging effectively with drivers and pedestrians.
• Activating campaign safety messages when cars are stopped.
• Ensuring all routes and safety protocols are strictly followed.
• Maintaining a positive, approachable, and energetic attitude throughout your shift.

What to Expect:

You will spend most of your shift outdoors, actively walking and on your feet. You must maintain a positive, approachable, and energetic attitude to maximize community impact and campaign visibility.
