GMR Marketing is actively hiring a Portfolio Ambassador based in NYC to join our advocacy team. As a Portfolio Ambassador, you will be recognized as a spirits industry expert in the NYC market. With extensive experience in the NYC market, you will cultivate strong relationships in on-premise accounts through frequent engagement, staff training, trade activations, and account visits.
This role is primarily responsible for the growth of Proximo Spirits brands – premium brands known for their craft and connoisseurship – within the most desirable on-premise accounts. The ideal candidate is an engaging, charismatic, professional, polished, and articulate storyteller. A successful Portfolio Ambassador will have a strong connection to their market, expertise in distributor networks, a robust and passionate knowledge of spirits categories, and extensive experience within the bartending and mixology community.
This position requires full and open availability, as it involves a non-traditional schedule including evenings and weekend work. While based in NYC, you must be available to travel outside the designated market upon request, not to exceed 20%.

- Experience in budget management
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
- Must have reliable transportation to travel to surrounding markets and make in-market visits while transporting program materials (e.g., liquor, POS)
- Working knowledge of computers with average to above-average skills in Windows, PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Email; ability to learn new computer programs quickly and efficiently
- A degree in a related field (e.g., sales and marketing, hospitality management, culinary) is preferred
- Previous experience as a spirits brand ambassador, in liquor sales, bartending, and fine dining is preferred
- Prior experience in program management, marketing, field sales, or other related fields is also preferred
- Ability to speak fluent English; proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred
- Strong written and conversational knowledge of the English language and grammar
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
